Curator 2016 – Dina Vester Feilberg
As the curator of Holbæk Art 2016 John Kørner has appointed Dina Vester Feilberg to succeed him.
Dina Vester Feilberg, Master of Arts and head of Kunsthallen Rønnebæksholm at Næstved, looks forward to the second season of the art project when further works by both Danish and international artists will be added to the art collection.
Dina Vester Feilberg has chosen to go along the lines that John Kørner decided on for Holbæk Art in 2014, and she will focus on distinctive stand-alone works of art.
Dina Vester Feilberg says:
-I have spent some time on immersing myself in the history of Holbæk. I pass my knowledge of the city on to the artists, but it is up to them solely to decide whether they will take the specific locations of their works into consideration. I only give them an educated basis to work from.
It is important for Dina Vester Feilberg that the artists are allowed to tell their stories freely. Furthermore, she wanted a group of artists who have different ways of expressing themselves visually.
As in 2014 all artists are acclaimed, well-established names and several of them will meet challenges which performing outside their usual environment:
-Among the new artists, some will be used to work in large formats, and others who usually only do drawings, watercolours or ceramics will face a big challenge and be given new opportunities for developing their practice in a new and inspiring way, says Dina Vester Feilberg.
